Fronthistoriska
Föreningen - FHF is a Swedish Living History society
established
in the autumn of 2008. We portray German, Russian and British infantry
soldiers of the World war II. Our focus is the daily life of these
soldiers from the end of 1943 - 1945 (a period often referred as
“late war”).
During FHF’s first years we focused entirely on eastern front
scenarios with German and Russian sections. This changed during 2011
when we set up a British section and gave ourselves the possibility to
do both western and eastern front scenarios. Three sections sounds
perhaps to be one or even two sections to many, but in Sweden there are
very few other active societies/groups. As a result, FHF can put on
events and displays that show both Allied and Axis forces.
In the German section we portray SS panzergrenadiers (infantry), mainly
from three different divisions - 'Nordland' (Rgt 24), 'Götz
von
Berlichingen' (Rgt 37) och 'Hohenstaufen' (Rgt 19). We have also
portrayed Heer (Army) soldiers during some public events and have
decided that this could be done more frequently in the future.
Our Russian section portrays scouts from the 188th Guards Rifle
Regiment (63rd Guards Rifle Division). They have also portrayed
Partisans and fighters from the French Resistance.
The British section portrays soldiers from 2nd Battalion, the Essex
Regiment (56th Independent Brigade, 49th Infantry Division).
In FHF we will always strive for the highest possible authenticity in
the use of uniforms, equipment and how we behave in field. We see this
as an very import aspect of the hobby and it’s only second
after
the highest priority - to have fun!
Every year since the beginning in 2008 members of FHF have participated
in public events in England and Denmark. We have also experience from
events in Slovakia and Russia. In Sweden we give priority to tactical
and field events, sometimes during quite harsh conditions.
Today we are proud to have friends from other groups in Denmark (we
actually have some Danish members), England, Holland, Germany and
Finland and we hope to be able to invite and visit them all during
forthcoming events!

FHF
is entirely a non-political organization that take clearly distance
from all sorts of extremism. We do not have any intention to glorify
violence or to understate or deny crimes committed during the time we
have chosen to portray. |
